Cancellation Policies

Rent In Gozo allows owners to choose among five standardized cancellation policies (Free, Flexible, Moderate, Strict and Non-Refundable) that we will enforce to protect both guest and owner alike. Each listing and reservation on our site will clearly state the cancellation policy. Guests may cancel and review any penalties by viewing their travel plans and then clicking ‘Cancel’ on the appropriate reservation. A host will be able to see the number of reservations a guest has canceled over the previous 12 months when the guest submits a request to book.

Free: Without penalisation until 24 hours prior to check-in

  • Accommodation fees (the deposit you’re charged) are refundable if the guest cancels 24 hours or more prior to check in.
  • Security deposits and cleaning fees (if any) are always refunded if the reservation is canceled before check-in.
  • The Rent In Gozo service fee is refundable, up to 3 times per year, within 48 hours of booking. Separately, if a guest cancels a reservation that overlaps with any part of an existing reservation, we won’t refund the Rent In Gozo service fee if they decide to cancel.
  • If there is a complaint from either party, notice must be given to Rent In Gozo within 24 hours of check-in.
  • Rent In Gozo will mediate when necessary, and has the final say in all disputes.
  • A reservation is officially canceled after the guest contacts the owner and the owner cancels the booking. Refunds are given according to the cancellation policy printed on the invoice.
  • Cancellation policies may be superseded by the Guest Refund Policy, extenuating circumstances, or cancellations by Rent In Gozo for any other reason permitted under the Terms of Service. Please review these exceptions.

Strict: 50% refund until 15-30-60 days prior to the arrival date

  • 50% of the accommodation fees (the deposit you’re charged) are refundable according to the Strict type applied. A Strict cancellation allows the guest to cancel at least 15 days prior to check-in. A Strict 30 cancellation allows 30 days prior to check-in. A Strict 60 cancellation allows 60 days prior to check-in.
  • Security deposits and cleaning fees (if any) are always refunded if the reservation is canceled before check-in.

Non-Refundable: Accommodation fees not repayable under any circumstance

  • If the guest cancels at any time, they forfeit all the accommodation fees (the deposit you're charged) to the owner and no refund will be made. It is at the discretion of each individual owner as to whether the booking can be rescheduled to another available date.
  • Security deposits and cleaning fees (if any) are always refunded if the reservation is canceled before check-in.
